Paraformaldehyde

The Paraformaldehyde produced by Caldic is of 91% - 93% purity. The solid state of the product allows a high concentration of formaldehyde to be used, without the inconveniences involved in handling a formaldehyde solution. This increases the capacity of the reactors and diminishes or does away with the need to eliminate water distilation. This leads to big energy savings, and reduces or eliminates liquid waste.

Paraformaldehyde can be used for the same purpose as formaldehyde solutions. It is a successful replacement when working with high concentrations of formaldehyde and in the manufacture of resins with high solid content. Paraformaldehyde is mainly used in the manufacture of many types of resins: urea resins, melamine resins, phenolic resins, etc., for use in the furniture, textile, paper, paint, and smelting industries, among others. Other uses are to manufacture products used in medicine, agrochemicals (herbicides), the automobile industry, etc.

InterAtlas Chemical Inc carries prilled as well as flaked Paraformaldehyde.
